This 19.6 MB PDF instruction document (Nikon calls it a "Guide to Digital Photography") for the Nikon D5000 should prove to be a fantastic read. The user guide is titled "Nikon D5000 Digital Camera User’s Manual" (the 19.6 MB Acrobat document that I referred to). The Nikon D90 is the upgrade to and next logical step up from the D80. And, much like the D80′s similarities to the D200, the D90 pulls some of the D300′s best bits; a newly designed 12.3megapixel sensor that, whilst not a direct transfer, is mightily similar – making for some of the highest quality, low-noise images throughout the entire ISO100-6400 range. Now that Nikon has officially announced the D700, many of you are looking for the user manual. We haven’t found one yet, but when we do, you’ll find it here first.

What we can tell you is that the D700 is essentially a compact version of the D3, offering the same full-frame 12.1 megapixel FX-format sensor. The new D700 incorporates an extensive array of features that boast a level of performance that is in many ways comparable to the D3, and even a few features that better the D3 (such as built-in sensor cleaning). The D700 will retail for $2,995 US and should be available at the end of July 2008.

The Nikon D300 Digital SLR is now in the hands of excited owners (I’m one of them). The D300 is of course the successor to the D200, which was introduced back in 2005. This upgrade isn’t evolutionary in nature, it’s a totally new camera.
